"Koats for Kids"

On a gray Sunday morning at the beginning of October, East Hartford families began lining up outside the Burlington Coat factory at 7:30 a.m. in happy anticipation of being part of our club's "Koats for Kids" campaign. Once again our club worked with East Hartford's Department of Social Services and the Burlington Coat Factory to help provide new winter coats to children. 

The Town identified the children in need and issued vouchers to them. Burlington Coat Factory generously gave everyone a 15% discount on the price of the coats. Children were able to shop and select the perfect winter coat for their needs.

At the end of the morning, 84 very happy East Hartford children went home knowing they would be warm this winter. The project was funded with a district grant.
