 Please accept my apology for being late in posting and for the brevity of the content. After hosting Thanksgiving Dinner for 25 and having a great time with grandchildren from LA, my energy level is not what it used to be.
 
Even though it was the day before Thanksgiving, our attendance was impressive. After the Rotary Song and the Pledge of Allegiance, we all joined President Marc in a moment of silence remembering the fallen in Paris. Larry Hangman gave a heartfelt invocation. Our only guests were President Marc’s daughter and his niece. Art Bradbury and Jay Stewart sang the Welcome Song with gusto.
 
Ned Lynch gave the Sergeant-at-Arms report. Most notably Art Bradbury’s 90th Birthday, Gil Wishart leaving for Florida, Jim Watts hosting Thanksgiving Dinner attended by four generations of the Watts family, and many other such moments that are documented in Ned’s notebook which may be accessed by those who are interested in knowing more by filing a Freedom of Information Brief.
 
Announcements:
  1. Holiday Party at Dan Russell’s house on 12/2/2015. President Marc will provide entrees and the rest on a Pot Luck basis.
  2. Mary Martin has raised $362 for Holiday Gifts for the needy.
  3. Mary Martin announced the slate for the Board for the year 2016-17.
  4. See Jack Sayre for Bell-Ringing signup.
  5. Board Meeting will be held Monday night.
  6. Sheryl O’Connor was awarded the Paul Harris pin for donation to the Foundation.
  7. Sue Klock encouraged all to donate to Rotary Foundation and share that on social media.
  8. Peter Klock will do a show and tell about the solar powered lantern. A $20 dollar donation will provide one for a needy family overseas. He also encouraged all to read the book on Polio. He has a copy for those who want to borrow it.
  Larry Frazier, following an established tradition at our Club, gave a thought provoking “sermon” and reminded us of the service men and women who are protecting our liberty and way of life by being on duty 24/7 including his two grandsons who will be on duty on this Thanksgiving. They deserve our respect, gratitude and sincere thanks.
 
John O’Connor shows up for the first time in a while and wins the Raffle prize of cash while George Agnelli who shows up just about every week only wins the flower. What is wrong with this picture?
 
Since there was no speaker today, the closing bell was rung a bit sooner than normal.
